Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are invited for ICOMS 2019, the premier international forum for research, theory and development related to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Do not miss the chance to share your experience and science with colleagues and experts in this field and to be published in the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. If you wish to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Program Committee, you must also intend to register for the Conference. Online submission for an oral or poster presentation is the only method of receipt of abstracts.

  • ORAL PRESENTATION - Oral Presentations will be notified of their length of presentation time in the acceptance letters. Abstracts which are not selected for Oral Presentation may be eligible for a Poster Presentation.
  • E-POSTER PRESENTATION - E-poster Presentations are visual display of research projects. The poster display will be an integral part of the program and will be available to access within the Exhibition Hall. Full details of the format of the interactive poster offered will be detailed within acceptance notifications sent to nominated presenting authors.
  • The abstracts should be submitted only through the restricted area of the participant (Online Secretariat)
  • The limit of authors for each paper: one author and up to nine co-authors. The presenter will be responsible for submitting the paper.
  • The author to present the abstract must be registered at the event for the submission of abstracts to be released. Payment of the registration can be made later.
  • Your abstract text should be no more than 250 words, including references
  • There is to be a maximum of two references
  • Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract
  • Your abstract should clearly, and where applicable, concisely outline the Background, Research Aims/Objectives, Methods, Results/Findings and Conclusions
  • NO images, graphs or tables are allowed

Notification to Authors will be communicated by December 15, 2018 the latest via email. Please note the details provided as the author contact should be for the nominated main contact for your abstract. All correspondence relating to the submission will be directed to this person, and they should in turn distribute to all co-presenters.


The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference. Similarly, no presenter fee is paid to successful participants. All presenters must register and pay for the Conference by February 1, 2019 in order for the presentation to be included in the Conference Program and in all publications.
